She has been characterized as a poet, a chanteuse, a pianist, a purveyor of deep and powerful emotion…and she is a firm believer in the power of music to heal the soul.

For 10 years, as a constant feature on New York City's singer/songwriter scene, karen novy performed at CB's Gallery, Baby Jupiter, The Living Room and The Den, as well as at coffeehouses and bookstores around the Northeast. She has toured through the Southeast, hitting venues including Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA and the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN. She has performed at NXNE in Toronto, BMI's Peekaboo Festival, the Philadelphia Music Conference, the CMJ music festival in New York, and the respected Songwriter's Circles at The Bitter End and the Bluebird Cafe.

Now that karen is residing in the Southeast, she is planning a recording of children's music and hopes to emerge in this new scene of very talented performing musicians in the Spring.  Stay tuned for listings of shows in the Chapel Hill, North Carolina area.

karen released her first full-length CD living true in 1998.  
She has since recorded an ep of songs entitled "halfway there".  You can find both recordings for sale at her live concerts.  She has written and recorded songs for independent films and commercials as well.
